I originally planned to do a nice proper review of the album but am not really in a review mode anymore and there's no point in waiting any longer to try and let more people know about this fantastic album. this has been a great year for hiphop albums so far so i couldn't pick what the best album yet but this is up there in the top 5 or even 3.

Blunted in the Bomb Shelter is one of the many projects that Madlib has undertaken rather successfully. This is a mix CD that skanks and trips through the Trojan back catalogue. There are 45 tracks that make up the 64 minutes of this CD. Madlib claims that this mix was recorded in his basement bomb shelter, and who are we to disbelieve him?

Can't believe I only recently got this, its the shit. The legendary Blue Note jazz label had the confidence and trust to give Madlib the keys to the vault and let him mix. The result is "Shades of Blue". He wanted to explore the roots of hip-hop and create a sort of survey of the beats and melodies that have shaped the specifically American musical genre. This album is a gem. To say he was successful is an understatement. This album showcases his vision. Enjoy.

Yes this is just released this year in 2009, and yes thats Prince Paul on the cover and he does every track, what more needs be said, a collaboration between Prince Paul and Souls of Mischief in 2009! Sounds like a follow up to 93' till infinity, there all in top form like its 1993 but you still know its made in 2009.

Volume 2: Best Of The Remixes & Megamixes (1990-1992) Culled from the 'Reconstruction' tape series, these tracks showcase Shadow's blitzkrieg cut-and-paste style utilizing the best music of the era. Everyone from Eric B & Rakim to Cutty Ranks and even TKA receive the Shadow treatment, to varied and remarkable effect. Okay, theres alway a lot of debate over whats Ghosface's best album and its usually between Ironman and Supreme Clietele, I even wont bother saying which one i prefer ill leave you to choose yourself. But take Ironman out of the equation and were left with Supreme Clietele and Fishscale, I actually wanted to put Fishscale in this list but didnt want more than 1 album by the same artist so settled on Supreme Clietele!
