The Roots – Dilla Joints (Mixtape)

Since the untimely death of the great J Dilla the records and tributes haven’t stopped… the latest is the best yet though, a faithful recreation of some of the producers greatest beats “Dilla Joints”.

Live hip-hop can be corny as hell, but the Roots are like no other band out there they can easily flip form a live freeform jam to a loop as tight as any sampled beat. Their take on Dilla’s beats retains the fragility, weirdness and passion of the originals whilst giving them their own unique spin.

1. Donuts Outro
2. Hot Shit (I’m Back!)
3. World Full Of Sadness
4. Upper Egypt
5. Stereolab
6. The Stars
7. Antiquity (feat. The Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Dillchestra)
8. She Said
9. Hall & Oates
10. Eve
11. Look Into Her Eyes
12. Make Em NV
13. Oh! O!
14. Wicked Ways

What up,
This is Chrysti Walters and I am the independent music coordinator at Platform One Entertainment. I know we have contacted you before but I wanted to personally introduce myself and let you know I was a big fan of 16th Chamber.
There are several artists that we work with that we felt would fit in well with the 16th Chamber community, but I specifically wanted to let you know about one of our new artist, Evil Ebenezer. He is a Toronto based rapper and has a sound that is similar to Lupe Fiasco, Mike Posner, and A Tribe Called Quest. The leading singles off of his new album, Evil Eye, are “Scarecrow” and “Spaceship", and you can check it out at:

Even, if Evil isn’t your style I would still love to chat and see if there are any other artists that might fit well with your site.

In the mean time I invite you to check out our website at www.platform-1.com

Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you!

Peace,

Chrysti

This is Chrysti Walters and I am the independent music coordinator at Platform One Entertainment a music and event marketing company based out of Chicago. I contacted you last week about a new artist we are currently working with, Evil Ebeneezer. He is a Toronto based rapper and has a sound that is similar to Lupe Fiasco, Mike Posner, and A Tribe Called Quest. The leading singles off of his new album are "Scarecrow" and "Spaceship". I was wondering if you had a chance to take a listen to them. If not, they can be found at:

I’d love to hear any thoughts you may have!

Even if Evil isn’t your style I would still love to chat and see if there are any other artists that might fit well with your site.

Thanks again for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you soon!
